July 2016: Training laboratories for Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth

Airbus Helicopters, part of the international Airbus Group, is the world’s leading manufacturer of helicopters for industry and the military. In addition to the development and research, production and assembly of helicopters at the German headquarters, Airbus also maintains a training center in Donauwörth. For this center, erfi comprehensively and completely equipped two training laboratories, each with 10 workstations. The two laboratories in the training center are centrally controlled from the trainer’s office. The control takes place either via the hardware of the room sub-distribution or via WLAN and corresponding software. All laboratory tables can be controlled either individually or in groups using these options. It is possible to select and control individual device groups for the built-in devices.

Equipment and technical details of the workstations

The basic structure of the tables is realized in the elneos connect system and carries an experiment frame above the device structure in the elneos five system for holding DIN A4 didactic panels or perforated sheet walls. A continuous indicator light is integrated into the equipment structure itself, which displays the operating status of the laboratory bench and individual devices.

Equipment scope of the devices

In addition to the fixed and variable AC voltage supply, the laboratory bench has a permanently integrated soldering station. At the heart of the equipment is the innovative elneos five device system. Each device is equipped with a 2-fold precision control power supply, a universal multimeter and a dual function generator including modulation function. The device system is integrated into the network and can be completely remote-controlled. This gives the instructor many more options for designing and teaching the training content. It was only thanks to the compact design of the device system that it was possible to integrate all the equipment into the device structure and thus achieve a tidy and ergonomic workplace design.
