October 2016 – erfi invests in a modern new building at the Freudenstadt site!

Due to the growing demand for erfi products, it became necessary to expand the Freudenstadt site. The new two-storey industrial building covers a total of 2,200 square meters and has an investment volume of approx. 4.2 million euros. In addition to expanded storage space and logistics, it will serve the increased production requirements in the new Industry 4.0 standard. A new and extensive customer and training center will also be created, which will present erfi’s modern product world in an optimal environment.

A 1,100 m² production hall with storage and logistics areas will be built on the first floor. The hall will house the incoming goods department and the final assembly of the carcass furniture. This will create considerable space in the existing final assembly hall for the simultaneous handling of several large projects. The new production hall offers additional storage and logistics areas for incoming goods as well as the necessary space for trade fair preparations.

A modern customer and training center with an area of approx. 1,100 m² will be built on the upper floor. The exclusive and spacious exhibition and sales area will enable our customers to get to know erfi’s complex products in detail. High-quality, separate meeting areas accommodate different groups of visitors at the same time. At the same time, the customer center is used as a training center for all customers, partners and employees.

erfi’s new product world appeals to customers emotionally through its unique design and functionality. erfi has received international design awards for its new products, such as the reddot design award. The new customer center is dedicated to the contemporary design standards of the erfi product world in terms of functionality, scope and atmosphere and also provides the basis for future in-house exhibitions.

At the same time as the start of the new building, erfi is investing approximately the same amount of over 4 million euros in a completely new laboratory furniture production facility with fully automated and interlinked machines in accordance with Industry 4.0. The comprehensively networked new machinery with automation belts and modern control station technology will make Freudenstadt one of the most modern furniture production plants in the wider area. Using control station software, all furniture and electronic components can be tracked and controlled during fully automated production. New robot technology and sorting storage for components enable the modern feeding of the various new CNC machines.
