May 2017 – Largest order in erfi’s history!
Two consecutive major orders were carried out for the Khalifa University campus in Abu Dhabi. With over 300 laboratory tables, for an order value of around 4 million and a wide variety of technical designs, Khalifa University opted for erfi technology. Only the elneos range was able to meet the high requirements and with elneos® five and elneos® connect in the system, the modern laboratories once again receive the most powerful technology in the industry.
The laboratories
The total of 13 laboratories, each with up to 20 desks, were specially designed as double workstations and each equipped with a lecturer’s desk. The labs are two Freshmen Computing labs and one each for Industrial, Geo & Transport, Aircraft Design and Mechatronics.
The furnishings
All desks are equipped with the sensor-controlled RGB LED workstation lights developed by erfi and the RGB LED indication light. The tables are double-equipped and can be used by two students. In addition to the laboratory furniture and test equipment, “all-in-one PCs” were also installed. The table system and the entire seating was designed in ESD and thus complies with the electronics laboratory standards.
The equipment
Among other things, over 500 units of the elneos® five series have been installed. Thanks to the compact and space-saving design of the modern system, the laboratories could be equipped with the highest performance and the detailed equipment includes the devices:
- Precision dual regulation power supply and measuring devices 0-30V/2A,
- fixed voltage devices 5V 3A,
- Power and fast signal arbitrary generators,
- power meters and energy meters,
- digital multimeters,
- function generators,
- gas and compressed air connections and
- safety and switching units.
The additional optional web server function enables the simultaneous operation of several devices on one display (twin function). This option is particularly advantageous at dual workstations and in a teaching context.
High-end for the future
Khalifa University quickly opted for erfi’s quality, as the laboratories needed to be future-proof, networked, efficient and ergonomic. Equipped with elneos® five and elneos® connect in the system, the new laboratories have the most future-proof and powerful technology in the industry.
