Laboratory redesign at the Technical University of Freiberg

erfi equips the TU Freiberg with new measuring workstations
The Technische Universität Bergakademie in Freiberg (Saxony) is dedicated to teaching and research in various fields of geosciences, engineering, natural sciences and economics. In particular, the Institute for Nanoscale and Bio-based Materials in the Clemens-Winkler Building has undergone extensive renovation and modernization in recent years.
This institute investigates surface chemistry and its application, as well as the production of bio-inspired reactive and living materials from sustainable and bio-based sources. In addition, developments of new and functionalization of known materials are further developed.

As part of this renovation work, a laboratory room was redesigned and erfi provided a tailor-made solution. Highly specialized ESD measuring workstations with an integrated ESD monitoring system were provided especially for the requirements of the institute. The modern and flexible elneos connect was selected as the furniture system to meet the requirements for flexibility and functionality.
The institute focuses on the development of innovative, bio-inspired and sustainable materials for sensors, membranes and fuel cells. State-of-the-art laboratory benches are essential for these challenging research projects.
The extensive equipment includes the erfi Bridge and a 6U cockpit. These integrate a large number of devices, including a custom-built insert plate for protecting a wide range of networks, various AC supplies and elneos five. The latter houses a precision control power supply and a function generator in a capacitive device system.
By supplying these modern measuring workstations, erfi is helping to ensure that the researchers at TU Freiberg are optimally equipped to continue their groundbreaking work and continue to develop innovative solutions for the challenges of our time.
