Our Honors and Awards

Milestone in electronics
erfi Ernst Fischer – Award winner in the category: Workplace systems – The times could not have been more unfavorable: Germany lay in ruins and post-war reconstruction was in full swing. Carpenters were also in great demand at this time.
Despite all the adverse circumstances, Ernst Fischer laid the foundation stone for his company in 1955: erfi. Initially industrial workbenches made of wood, demand increased very quickly and with the start of the economic upturn, Ernst Fischer had the idea of integrating electronic components into the work furniture.
Today, erfi produces state-of-the-art laboratory workstations and the corresponding measuring devices in its networked production facility. So the circle is complete: from the beginnings of a carpenter who built wooden workbenches to networked laboratory workstations with integrated functions.

German Design Award 2014
elneos connect was honored with the German Design Award for its structural flexibility and extreme lightness. The modular profile system, together with the connector, enables optimal media routing. This, among other things, makes the erfi bridge possible. The erfi bridge is a continuous table crossover equipped with devices and technical details, which would not be feasible without this profile system and the connector.
The RBG LED task lighting, which can be adjusted in terms of brightness, light color and inclination, is equipped with sensor-based and therefore intuitive operation. The indication light shows the status of the desk in its various technical working states. The jury says – elneos connect, a formally clear product with beautiful details.
if Product Design Award 2014
For 60 years, iF has stood for the perfect combination of design and business. What began in 1953 as a “special exhibition of form-fit industrial products” at the Hannover trade fair grounds has today evolved into an internationally operating design center headquartered in downtown Hannover with exhibitions worldwide. The original association, iF Industrie Forum Design e.V., is supported by iF International Forum Design GmbH, which acts as the organizer of all iF competitions, especially the three main competitions: the iF Product Design Award, iF Communication Design Award, and iF Packaging Design Award. These iF Design Awards reflect current trends in design and the economic value of well-designed products.
The award ceremony took place on February 28, 2014 as part of a festive event. Afterwards, elneos five and elneos connect were exhibited in a special exhibition from October 4, 2014 to February 15, 2015 in the middle of the new HafenCity. The design metropolis of Hamburg offers a particularly attractive attraction for the media and professional world as well as for the public interested in design and architecture.
reddot Design Award 2013
erfi’s innovative strength impressed the 37-member expert jury of the red dot award: product design 2013. Those who convince the renowned experts can adorn their product creation with the “red dot” and position themselves on an international level. The jurors were delighted with the 4,662 entries in 19 different categories in the current competition. Only the best designs were able to impress the jury and so the elneos five electronic appliance system and elneos connect workstation system were awarded the “red dot” for their successful design concept.
Economic success and good design go hand in hand, especially today: “The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2013 are the protagonists of a highly developed design culture and design economy. Nowadays, it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish well-designed products from one another. Unique features often only become visible in the details. However, those product creations that pass the critical eyes of the international Red Dot jury will not get lost in the crowd and will be able to assert themselves in global competition.”
The Red Dot Design Award
With the Red Dot Design Award, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen created one of the most internationally renowned competitions.
Its award, the “Red Dot,” has established itself worldwide as one of the most coveted quality seals for outstanding design. The awarded products are exhibited by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen for at least one year in the Red Dot Design Museum. To professionally assess the diversity in the field of design, the Red Dot Design Award is divided into various disciplines: “Red Dot Award: Product Design,” “Red Dot Award: Communication Design,” and “Red Dot Award: Design Concept.”
